A research scientist at GE Global Research in Niskayuna? has been honored by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for his work in high-technology turbine seals.
Eric J. Ruggiero, manager of turbine heat transfer technologies, has been with GE since 2005, and has developed seal technologies used in jet engines, gas turbines, and compression gear for the oil and gas industry. His work has resulted in 16 patents.
He will received the AIAA?s Lawrence Sperry Award at the organization?s annual aerospace sciences meeting in January in Grapevine, Tx.
