With the addition of Matt Sorensen, MD, hematology/oncology, to the Specialty Clinic at Estes Park Medical Center, cancer care is close to home for residents of the Estes Valley and the surrounding areas. Appointments can be made with Dr. Sorensen through his Fort Collins office by calling 970-493-6337. Dr. Sorensen sees patients in the Specialty Clinic two times a month.

Dr. Sorensen received his medical degree from the University Of Washington School Of Medicine, Seattle, Wash. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga., and his hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of California - San Francisco. Dr. Sorensen is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

The new CT scanner is 4 times faster than the previous scanner and offers extremely fast processing time. The faster processing time allows for quicker turnaround time on interpretation and less patient radiation.

Dr. Sorensen is affiliated with Cancer Center of the Rockies(University of Colorado Health), which provides a multidisciplinary approach to care. They offer a multidisciplinary approach to care with expert cancer treatment teams in medical oncology, surgery, radiation therapy, pathology and nursing. Support services, including patient navigation and clinical trials, draw on the talent of a wide range of professionals.
