?Swapviva? app launched, new LG laser TV to hit the market and NQ Mobile celebrates double-entry in apps shortlist
Smartphone?and tablet users looking for somewhere to list any of their unwanted Christmas presents for sale have a brand new alternative to the likes of Craigslist and eBay.?Swapviva, an?app?launched recently in Seattle, lets members of its service sell or even trade items for other goods or services using the platform.
Photos and descriptions can be uploaded simply, and members will be able to offer their own unwanted items in exchange. The?app, which was co-founded by brothers Mihai and Alex Draghici , is inspired by the television show?Barter Kings?and offers users a ?clean app interface? for keeping their incoming and outgoing trades and transactions organised.
In another launch,?LG Electronics?announced the arrival of its 100-inch (diagonal) class Laser TV, which is to see its first public demonstration at next month?s 2013 International CES.
The LG ?HECTO? Laser TV, which boasts both Digital and Smart TV capabilities, creates a top-level home theatre experience using an innovative projector system which requires the lens to be placed a mere two feet away from the screen, either on the floor or ceiling. The 1080p Full HD resolution combined with a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is just as clear in lighter rooms as it is in darkened ones.
The Laser TV also boasts integration with premium content providers such as Netflix and YouTube thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi, as well as smart connectivity that allows users to stream content from compatible devices.
Elsewhere in relation to CES 2013,?a leading global provider?of mobile Internet services has seen two of its products named in the top 25 apps at the Mobile Apps Showdown for the exhibition.
The two apps, NQ Mobile Security and NQ Family Guardian, are both produced by NQ Mobile and offer what the company?s Chief Product Officer, Gavin Kim , describes as ?cutting edge security solutions and protection for families?.
NQ Mobile Security provides protection for mobile devices against viruses, malicious URLs and other potential security risks, and is described as having a 99 percent malware detection rate. NQ Family Guardian, on the other hand, carries a number of customisable features to filter, block and monitor activity on a child?s smartphone.
All 25 apps in the line-up of semifinalists are selected by an expert panel with extensive knowledge in reviewing similar products.?
