How does one become a PC Technician?
My goal is to eventually work with computers as a career (PC repair/support type deal). I enjoy working with computers and the idea that some day I may encounter a problem but actually KNOW how to fix it instead of calling Tech-support REALLY fascinates me. I?ve looked through the college booklet for classes, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I figured I'd try to go & acquire an Associate in Applied Sciences Degree through one of the degree programs but I'm not really sure if that's what I should be doing. There?s one program that I?m looking at "Computer Information Technology ? PC Support" Would it be more beneficial if I go for the associates instead of a certificate? I see another program for a certificate "Computer Information Technology ? Personal Computer Technician" & it?s only for a semester. I'm not really sure which way I should go, am I even looking in the right direction? is there another program I should try to go for? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
there are so many majors under the computer major .programing ,networking ,hardware and of course u cant study all that just not to call a technician.if u study programing for example u might have a networking problem and u will have to call a technician and so on .i advise to take a course called A+ its mainly about harware.its like a geat to all the other majors
yes, get someone around that can asist you in the pratical ways, not just all theory, and you can as well try start taken some few exams, that relate to PC Repair, example AA
