20 de marzo de 2013, 17:11Caracas, 20 Mar (Prensa Latina)Venezuelan Minister of Foreing Afairs, El?as Jaua, informed today the suspention of the communication channel between the two countries.
"This channel of communication is suspended at this time, deferred until there is a clear message on what type of relationship the United States wants with Venezuela," Jaua said.He said the move was a response to "interventionist statements" by US assistant secretary of state Roberta Jacobson, who called for "open, fair and transparent" elections on April 14.
In the ceremony of putting awards to the two diplomats who were spelled in the United States, the minister announced the Acting President Nicolas Maduro decided to difered these conversations.
"We want a normal relationships with United States without interference in the internal affairs of our country".
"It makes no sense to continue wasting time," he added.
Maduro said in January that he had had contacts with Washington in late 2012 through the Venezuelan ambassador at the Organization of American States, which he said were authorized by Chavez but now the ambassador had recieved this instruction of suspending them.
Jaua said that all consulates and charge de affairs will continue functioning normally between the two countries.
